by Tybee Oyster Company
Bespoke oysters cultivated with purpose - honoring our coastal heritage, supporting our community, and protecting the ecosystem we call home.
PLACE
Georgia Grown.
Coastal Ecosystem.
We grow our oysters in the salt marshes of coastal Georgia, one of the most productive ecosystems in the world.
Tybee, meaning βsaltβ in the Native American Euchee language, has drawn people to these waters for generations.
Weβre proud stewards of this keystone species, cultivating oysters in the very place that defines them.
PASSION
Family Run.
Quality Obsessed.
Tybee Oyster Company is a family operation supported by a talented team of chefs, scientists, deck-hands, and coastal stewards.
We touch every basket. We flip every line. We check every oyster by hand. That care shows up in the shell, the shape, and the flavor.
Our work doesnβt end at harvest - it continues at restaurant tables, chef partnerships, and community gatherings across the coast.
PURPOSE
Regenerative. Community.
Oysters are natural filter feeders. They require no feed, no freshwater, and no fertilizers β just clean coastal water and careful stewardship.
Each Salt Bomb filters gallons of water daily while creating habitat for fish and marine life.
Through our partnership with Education Community Oysters (ECO Georgia), we connect students and educators to aquaculture, environmental science, and coastal workforce pathways.
βThe future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.β

Tasting Notes
Described by oyster sommelier Julie Qiu (@inahalfshellist) as having βfull ocean salinity and a good amount of umami ... grassy and anise notes with a light, earthy finish ... after one day in the fridge, this oyster reminded me of sipping a rich shoyu ramen broth.β
Growing Process
Salt Bombs are grown at the mouth of the Bull River within sight of the Atlantic Ocean. Cultivated in floating baskets, theyβre naturally polished and shaped by the brisk current and high-energy wave action rolling in off Wassaw Sound β producing a clean, deep-cupped oyster with unmistakable coastal character.
